Orientation on Advocacy & Lobbying

Advocacy & Lobbying


On invitation of Seva Kendra, Kolkata NAVA team conducted two orientation training for a small project team.

The first one was held at the project office of them located at Sholo Bigha village, near Budge Budge at the outskirt of Kolkata. 16 young village level workers and volunteers attended. The programme was introduced by Ms. Rina Sarkar of the project. Diptendu Mukerji and Smriti Sarkar conducted the event on behalf of NAVA.

Along with class room discussions on the subject Advocacy and Lobbying, there were practical group work on how to devise appropriate advocacy media.


Another session of similar nature on Advocacy and Lobbying was held at the Seva Kendra, Kolkata.
Diptendu Mukerji and Monoranjan Bairagi conducted on behalf of NAVA. Mr. Bairagi narrated his various first hand experiences on advocacy and lobbying at the field level. 15 persons attended this event.

Non-Formal Education Training: Cuttack, Orissa

Lutheran World Service Trust India is doing a significant work in Cuttack in Orissa for the empowerment of women, especially those who are engaged as domestic helps. One basic component of their involvement is education, through Non-Formal Education method. NAVA is a pioneer agency in training field activists on the various creative and innovative methods for imparting non-formal education. We have conducted a large number of in-field training for the field workers of Lutheran World Service India Trust in Orissa, West Bengal and Assam for the past several decades now. Here are some glimpses of a three-day training held at Cuttack last year.
